Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville

The space shuttle is this big.

Cate's ready for blast off.

I really couldn't tell you what Reed is doing. He's in one of his silly moods.

Reed and Daddy check out the big engine/burner...whatever that is.

We had a great time. The kids rode this ride that took them up and dropped them down a little at a time. They laughed the whole time.

Do you know what I dreamed about last night?

Reed: Do you know what I dreamed about last night?
Me: What?
Reed: Umm...Papaw.
Me: What did you dream?
Reed: About his pigeons. His racing pigeons were flying around. I want to stay out there all the time with the pigeons.

Flutter Flutter Butterfly

Play-Doh

The next time your kids are playing with play-doh and they say, "do you want a bite of my cake?" you might want to ask a few questions. I came downstairs and heard the kids devilish giggles in the kitchen. I peeked around the corner to see what's up. They were sitting on play-doh on the table smushing it with their bottoms. Cate said, "we're making cake!" Reed said, "we're making Pants Cake!"

Monte Sano State Park

Here are a couple of shots from our camping trip. More pics to come after I've had a good night's rest in my comfy bed. Can't think now...must sleep.

My little buddy.

Yesterday Reed went to school. I thought he was just fine. I picked him up at 2pm and still seemed okay. Got in line to pick up Cate and he started crying. He said, "I need to go to the doctor today." So we did. He has a bulging eardrum and possibly strep throat. Poor little guy never complained. You might think he would want to sleep in this morning. Nope. At 6:15am he comes hopping down the stairs and the first words were, "I'm ready to do my homework." Homework! He's so funny. Yesterday he drew a map so he got that out and started x-ing out the states that were far away. He would say, "Alabama is far away, Texas is far away, Mister Sippy is far away that's where Gran lives, the country where Uncle H. is a soldier is far away..." (He said the name of the country but I don't want to blog it.) Now he's putting the ABC fridge magnets in order. His brain is so active. It's fun watching him learn. I'm so thankful that I have this time with him at home.

Craft Time Again

Today's craft was King Peter and Queen Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia. Granny and Papaw gave these movies to Cate for her birthday and the kids love them.

Full Armor of God

Reed loves dressing in battle gear and fighting the dark forces. Whether he's a Jedi, High King Peter the Magnificent, or some other good guy. He's always asking me if he has on the "Full Armor." I don't know where he got that term but it's a great opportunity to tell him about the Full Armor of God.

Ephesians 6:13 (New International Version) 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Go Daddy!!!

Wes did it. He ran the Tom King 1/2 Marathon. 40 degree weather with steady rain. We're so proud of you. The kids gave him a trophy that says #1 Daddy. Way to go Wes. You're always #1 in our house. We love you.

Stones River Battlefield Museum

The kids and I had a little outing yesterday. Stones River Battlefield is one of our favorite places to visit. In addition to the history of the place, there are trails, letterboxes, lots of birds, cool trees, MOSS! and more. It's a different adventure every time we go.

Cate's Leprechaun Trap

I have spent WAY too much time on this homework assignment. Cate did decorate the box. But I spent more time than I should have coming up with a way to trap the little green guy. (Note: Plo Koon the Jedi Master in the picture is just there to show you how the Leprechaun will enter the box.) Can I go to Kindergarten again? It's kind of fun.

Global Day of Prayer for Burma

Aren't these children beautiful? They are a part of the Karen ethnic group in Burma. The Burmese have targeted the Karen for Ethnic Cleansing. These beautiful people are constantly on the run for their lives. They must move about in the jungle to avoid being caught by the army. If caught, they face torture, forced labor, rape and death. A large percentage of this group of people are Christian. This makes them even more of a target for the army who wants to create one nation (Burma), one language (Burmese) and one religion (Buddhism). Please pray today and continually for the Karen. Pray for Rock Springs Church as we adopt a Karen refugee family that is moving to TN. For more information about the Karen go to the Free Burma Rangers website.

Cate's Play Date

Cate's classmate and her little brother came over for a play date. They had so much fun jumping on the trampoline and playing with every toy they could find.

Cate is the Star this week.

Cate is the star this week in her kindergarten class. She gets to bring special toys and pictures to class, tell about her family and things she likes. Today Wes, Reed and I got to read to her class. We read a Bird Book that Reed got from Granny and Papaw. It has bird sounds that go with the birds. Then we made bird feeders. It was a lot of fun. I forgot to take my camera. :-( The kids loved the Cardinal the most. That's the school mascot.
